Four weeks without Bundesliga are over: From tonight the ball will finally roll again in Germany. It is high time that we unpack the 5vo12 again. Our tips for your betting slip! Here we go!

Schalke 04 – Borussia M’gladbach (Tip: Under 3.5 goals / odds: 1.45)

The Royal Blues strengthened their defense just before the Bundesliga start into the new decade: Jean-Clair Todibo comes from the youth of FC Barcelona, but will probably not be used at Schalke from the start. The Wagner team already had the fourth best defense in the hind series. Only Leipzig, Wolfsburg and – yes, today’s opponent from Mönchengladbach were more defensively stable. Borussia coach Rose wants a Friday evening game with “speed, classy duels and many goal area scenes”. That is possible, but we do not expect a goal spectacle. The first leg already ended 0-0. And there haven‘t been more than 3 goals in none of the last 5 duels between Schalke and Mönchengladbach.

Fortuna Dusseldorf – Werder Bremen (tip: over 2.5 goals / odds: 1.60)

We expect more goals in the duel between Fortuna and Werder. Bremen are the Aunt Sally of the league (41 goals conceded), Düsseldorfer also averaged more than 2 goals per league game. The guests from the Weser have strengthened themselves with Hoffenheim’s Kevin Vogt, the Rhinelanders have drawn Schalke’s Skrzybski on board. Almost more important: long-term injuries return on both sides: Stöger (Fortuna) and Toprak (Werder). Speaks for increased quality. It is also clear that both teams have to win to get out of the bottom. We are expecting goals!

Real Madrid v Sevilla FC (Real Madrid win / odds: 1.60)

A 1.60 on a home win of the royal does not sound wrong. Real’s last defeat was three months ago (0-1 in Mallorca), most recently winning the Supercup with victories against Valencia and Atlético. Seville is only two places and five points behind Real Madrid, but the Andalusians have not won at Real since 2008. In addition, the capitals against Sevilla have been hungry for goals in the last ten league home games: Benzema and Co have scored 35 home goals against Sevilla since 2010, Real have scored at least three times. Real’s home win is firmly planned.

Newcastle United – Chelsea (win Chelsea / odds: 1.50)

Steve Bruce, Newcastle’s head coach, won only one of 22 Premier League duels against Chelsea in his career. In general, the Magpies from Northern England are an absolute favorite opponent for the blues: Chelsea won more against Tottenham (29x) than against Newcastle (25x). The start of this year was also diametrical for both teams: Newcastle only took one point in the 1-1 draw in Wolverhampton after being beaten 0-3 by Leicester on New Year’s. Chelsea, however, played 1-1 in Brighton and then defeated Burnley 3-0. One thing is clear: Frank Lampard’s team also wins at St. James Park on Saturday evening!

SC Paderborn – Bayer Leverkusen (win Leverkusen / odds 1.60)

Bayer really started in the second half of the previous season, scoring ten points more than in the first half of the season 18/19. At the bottom of the table, the Werkself are of course a crystal-clear favorite, even if the home side won in Bremen and against Frankfurt before Christmas. But: The SCP has never won against Bayer, Bayer easily won the last Bundesliga home game 3-0 in Paderborn. By the way: Both coaches once played together for Hansa Rostock! In the end, nothing helps the East Westphalia: Leverkusen takes the three points with them.
