kimmich-vs-werner So far, the duel between the German record champions and the aspiring Leipzigers has clearly been overshadowed by the classic Bayern against Dortmund. That could change this time, because while BVB is only fourth. On Sunday, February 9th the two top-teams of the Bundesliga will meet at Allianz Arena: Bayern Munich welcomes Rasenballsport Leipzig. Kick-off is at 6 p.m. (CET).

FC Bayern – RB Leipzig: Statistics

Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig faced each other 7 times in the Bundesliga, 1 won RB, 2 times the duel ended in a tie. In Munich, however, all comparisons went to FC Bayern. So far, the Leipzigers haven’t even scored a goal in the Allianz Arena. So far they have faced each other twice in the DFB Cup, most recently in the 2019 final. Bayern Munich won both games.

The current form

Since the 1:2 defeat in Mönchengladbach, the team of Hansi Flick has won everything: 6 wins in 3 competitions with just 3 goals conceded. Small mistake: The 2:5 defeat in the test game against Nuremberg. The Munich team has robbed itself up to 2nd place and is just a point behind leaders Leipzig. Julian Nagelsmann’s team had a brilliant run until mid-January: 13 competitive games without defeat! At Eintracht Frankfurt, however, they went swimming 0-2. It was the first Bundesliga game since May 2019 in which Leipzig was unable to score its own goal. Opponents back then: Bayern Munich (0-0).

The last duel between FC Bayern and RB Leipzig

The first leg ended 1-1 and was a duel at eye level. Bavaria dominated the first round and narrowly took the lead through Robert Lewandowski, Leipzig equalized with a penalty just before the break: Emil Forsberg converted against Manuel Neuer. Bayern also got a penalty in halftime one. An already whistled penalty kick (Marcel Sabitzer to Hernandez) by referee Sascha Stegemann was withdrawn after video evidence, which, according to the TV pictures, was also correct.

Bayern Munich – Leipzig: Live on Sky

Sky Deutschland will have the majority of the Bundesliga games live and exclusive on offer until at least the end of next season. You can also see the Sunday game between the Bavarians and Leipzig on Sky. The pay-TV broadcaster starts the preliminary reports at 5:30 p.m., kick-off is then 6 p.m.

Bayern Munich – RB Leipzig: bets and odds

In their first Bundesliga season RB Leipzig results were still 0:3 and 4:5 against Bayern. But in the last three Bundesliga duels there have never been more than 2 goals. Does it stay that way? Going “under goals” in Bayern games is also risky, even there is a good odd for that. We’ll tell you shortly how these will look.
